FAQ - Miele Dishwashers - Settings, Usage, Tips & Fixes
Built-in water softener (no, it's not a gimmick!)
If you're wondering whether or not to use the built-in water softener in your Miele dishwasher, the answer is a resounding yes! Utilizing this feature can extend the longevity of your appliance and help you use less detergent. However, it's important to note that this feature is designed specifically for the Adelaide metro area water supply and does not apply to the use of rainwater or bore water.
When it comes to the water hardness setting, we recommend setting it to 7. This is an average setting that covers fluctuations in water hardness, depending on the supply catchment and season.
Dishwasher Salt
Wondering where to buy Miele dishwasher salt? Look no further than our Plympton and Unley stores! On average, a bag of Miele dishwasher salt will last you 3-4 months, depending on your usage.
Detergents
When it comes to detergents, we recommend using tablets for full loads and powder for full or varying loads. If you're using tablets, you don't need to worry about adding additional rinse aid, as most tablets already contain built-in rinse aid.
Drainage or F11 faults
If you're experiencing drainage or F11 faults with your Miele dishwasher, it could be caused by a blocked drain pump. Fortunately, accessing and clearing the drain pump is relatively easy and can be done without any tools. Simply refer to your Miele user manual for detailed instructions on how to access and clear the drain pump.
